Sony's top end camcorder, the F900R Cine Alta is famed for its use on feature films such as Star Wars, with its ability to shoot all of the standard global frame rates.
Unlike the Varicam, the F900R Cine Alta cannot shoot frame rates above 30p due to its 1080 line recording, however it is a versatile camcorder capable of producing pictures comparable to 35mm film. The Sony F900R is often used with HD primes, or the Pro35 adaptor and film primes, giving the best images.
